In Sweden, port terminal Värtaterminalen operated by Stockholms Hamnar has been granted environmental certification Miljöbyggnad Guld. According to Stockholms Hamnar, energy consumption in the terminal is 40% lower than in other equivalent buildings. All materials selected have been approved in accordance with standards in material assessment system SundaHus. The terminal has 400 square metres of solar panels on its roof. The bulk of heating and cooling is supplied through an energy storage facility.
