Danish-based shipping company DFDS will put one more cargo transport ship into operation on the route between Gothenburg in Sweden and Ghent in Belgium. The ship is a roro ferry named Ark Germania, and will be launched in mid-August 2017. This means that DFDS will operate a total of four ships on the route. The capacity increase is attributed to a positive trend in Swedish/Belgian industrial trade relations. The route is important for automotive trading, and DFDS has recently entered into an agreement with Swedish truck and bus manufacturer Scania considering Belgian exports of truck coachworks to Sweden.
